Edmonton City Assessed vs Sold Data

As a tech company I’ve been thinking of different ways to visualize data that can help bother our consumers and us by visualizing trends in home sales, neighborhoods, etc.

It’s very difficult to find a baseline on what a home should cost, our values are based off of sold data which reflects trends after they have happened. This map showcases the prices of homes sold vs city assessed value where each dot represents the amount above or below the city assessed value. Red is lowest, orange is low, white is right at city assessed, light blue, blue, green, and bright green are all above.

It’s interesting to see the pockets of bright green move around the city as individual neighborhoods appear to go through periods of intense buying.

You can see tool to navigate on the right. Select January and you can play each month one by one or all together.
